Awareness of folic acid supplimentation in pregnancy questionnaire-based study

Objective: To evaluate the awareness of need for folic acid supplementation and also actual intake during periconceptional period to prevent neural tube defects.Methods: The study involved a questionnaire survey conducted among 100 women attended antenatal visit in Department Obstetrics Gynecology, Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore, Karnataka. data were collected over March 2022 December 2022Results: Out participants, 63% had taken and, 37% have not acid. who taken, 27% aware about benefits 36% was has acid, 20.6% pre-conceptionally 79.3% at time pregnancy.Conclusion: showed that despite fact most our respondents knew Folic But rate use appropriate pre-pregnancy high population. A public health policy or strategy increase preconceptional is needed society.
